DESCRIPTION:
John J. Elliott, London, England for Schreve, Crump & Low Co., Boston, Mass., tall clock, 8 day, time, strike and Westminster chime on 5 signed Harrington tubes, three train brass weight driven movement in a mahogany case with full columns flanking broken arch hood with gilded wooden ball and spire finials, beveled glass in trunk door and front paw feet. The brass dial has pierced brass corner spandrels and dial center, silvered chapter ring with applied brass numerals, hour strike / silent and Westminster / silent selectors and moon phase dial
CONDITION:
the case retains its original finish. The feet and lower moldings on base are present but not attached and the tube hangers will need to be restrung. The silvered chapter ring is tarnished. Two of the hammers need to be refastened. The repair label indicates service by Philip D'avanza in January of 2012. This clock will present very well with a few minor repairs.
